چکیده

Wireless medium is a hostile propagation medium suffering from multipath fading and interference from other sources. Time Diversity and Frequency Diversity provide provides effective methods to mitigate fading and interference, this improving link robustness. Spatial Diversity provides link reliability without compromising on spectral efficiency. Space-time-coding provides potentially increased robustness and capacity by exploiting the fact that multiple antennas can be used in both transmitting and receiving equipments. This spatial multiplexing technique is termed as Multiple-Input-Multiple-Out [“MIMO”]. Most of the previous work in the area of “MIMO” wireless has been restricted to narrowband systems. Orthogonal-Frequency-Division-Multiplexing [“OFDM”] significantly reduces receiver complexity in wireless broadband systems. The use of “MIMO” technology in combination with “OFDM” seems to be an attractive solution for future broadband wireless systems. This paper is aimed at looking at possible integration of “MIMO” with “OFDM” and establishing improvements it has to offer for wireless networks. Various schemes that employ multiple antennas at the transmitter and receiver are being considered to improve the range and performance of communication systems. Performance of Multiple-Input Multiple-Output OFDM with Index Modulation

Multiple-input multiple output orthogonal frequency division multiplexing with index modulation (MIMO-OFDMIM) is novel multicarrier transmission technique which has been proposed recently as an alternative to classical MIMO-OFDM. In this scheme, OFDM with index modulation (OFDM-IM) concept is combined with MIMO transmission to take advantage of the benefits of these two techniques. In this work...

Analogue joint source-channel coding for multiple input multiple output-orthogonal frequency division multiplexing systems

Analogue joint source-channel coding (JSCC) has been shown to approach the optimal distortion-cost trade-off when transmitting over additive white Gaussian noise channels. In this work, we consider analogue JSCC over frequencyselective channels using orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) modulation and multiple antennas at transmission and/or reception, that is, using a multiple inp...
